Safe in you

Updated: May 18

I’m falling for you

deeper than I ever meant to,

and it terrifies me.

From the very start,

I whispered warnings to myself: Don’t do this. Don’t let go. Yet here I am, unraveling.

A part of me  the guarded, wounded part urges me to be cautious, to build walls instead of bridges, to keep my heart wrapped in armor

so I don’t shatter again.

But my soul...

My soul recognizes you.

With you, I am home.

There is no need for locked doors, no fear of the fall

only the warmth of knowing

I am finally, truly safe.
